Job Description


DEPUTY HEAD (HIV/TB SERVICES) - JHBResponsible for leading the design and implementation of the APACE programme strategies and interventions targeted at specific populations, including implementation, and strengthening the quality of multi-directional (community/ facility/ private sector) referral systems. To serve as the senior manager of technical program specialists, community HTS program and other special projects (Private Sector/ NHI) and support the integration of programme delivery approaches to ensure continuity of service.Provide senior strategic leadership across the continuum of care.Lead the continuous development and implementation of "Out of Facilities" Programme Plan in line with the HIV/TB strategy and the National Strategic Plan for HIV/TB, donor requirements, annual programme activities and work plans.Support initiatives to promote the systemic application of high-quality HIV/TB programming; lead and/or contribute to the development of strategies and technical guidance for the design, implementation, and evaluation of interventions.Provide guidance and support across out of facility technical services, community support and special projects.Provide senior-level oversight and management of program delivery and technical specialists.Lead a team of technical specialists to ensure APACE program responds to the needs of Men, Adolescents, Pregnant and Breastfeeding women, etc.Manage the necessary systems, structures, policies and procedures required for the successful implementation, coordinating closely with senior management to appropriately resource the relevant HQ and district-level teams.Manage performance outputs consistent with relevant funder indicators and organisational performance management guidance.Anticipate implementation challenges and coordinate with the appropriate Heads of Division/ Leads to develop, resource, and implement corrective measures.Manage and mentor other personnel who are responsible for the direct management of programme teams and sub-awardees.Establish support for the National Department of Health's out of facility programmes.Review all aspects of programme-related internal and external reporting to ensure high quality data and/or service delivery to the Chief of Party /Head of DivisionPosition and promote organisation as a visible leader in the field of public health through networking, strategic engagements, active partnerships, publications and presentations.Drive innovation to support effective programme implementation.Ideal Candidate:A medical officer (MBChB) with a valid registration with HPCSAPostgraduate qualification in Public Health, Quality Management or Social and Behavioural Sciences , is an added advantage.A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in HIV/TB/PMTCT programme implementation, and five years of supervisory management experience required.Previous experience working with complex, multi-million-dollar programmes across multiple geographic areas.Previous experience leading and managing a team of diverse technical experts while fostering teamwork and producing high-quality outputs.Knowledge of latest HIV/TB/PMTCT guidelinesKnowledge of 95-95-95 TB strategy and other health related policiesKnowledge of donor HIV/TB programme performance indicatorsDesired Skills:HIV/TB/PMTCT95-95-95 TB strategyfacility service deliveryTechnical SupportReport WritingStakeholder ManagementContinuous ImprovementAPACE programTeam ManagementBudget ManagementMedical OfficerDesired Work Experience:More than 10 yearsDesired Accreditations:Health Professions Council of South Africa APPLY NOW NTSHUPETSEVIEW AGENCY PROFILESEE ALL NTSHUPETSE JOBSABOUT THE AGENCYNTSHUPETSE RECRUITMENT provides solutions that support strategic talent acquisition in organizations.
