The Department of Infrastructure, Western Cape Government have an opportunity for a competent and suitably qualified individual to shape infrastructure transversally in the province through the management of infrastructure policy research and development in respect of sustainable integrated infrastructure management.
Minimum Requirements
An appropriate 3 year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification) in fields related to the Built Environment, Social Sciences, Economics or Human Geography; A minimum of 3 years management experience; A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence. NB: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.
Recommendation
Master's Degree in relevant field of Built Environment, Social Sciences, Economics or Human Geography; Experience in public policy analysis and/or research in the following fields: social sciences, the built environment, human geography, economics and human settlements; Proven working knowledge with experience in the following: Managing research or policy development projects; Research, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills/abilities; Human settlements and/or local government legislation and policies; Sustainability initiatives and policies within the built environment and managing stakeholder engagement processes; Willing to travel for work as required.
Key Performance Areas
Facilitate the evaluation, analysis and development of provincial infrastructure policy; Conduct high level research / feasibility studies and scenario planning; Monitor policy implementation in collaboration with infrastructure partners; Facilitate the drafting and advice related to infrastructure legislation; Plan and manage the work of and account for the overall performance of the sub-directorate; People Management; Financial Management.

Remuneration
All-inclusive salary package of R 896 436 per annum (Salary level 11)
Note on remuneration: to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees' service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
