Job Description


Responsibilities:

Manages the activities of the depot and directs driver(s) and forecourt staff. Schedules transport for the products and personnel at efficient cost. Ensures that sound operating practices with regard to safety and performance are used. Makes recommendations on operational activities of the depot and generates sales leads.

Key Areas

Operations Management:

  • Operational Management of the depot
  • Manage and improve business performance
  • Getting multiple quotes for items of major expense
  • Adhering to the approval procedures and limits for any spending as prescribed by the Finance Department including that a PO is raised and completed where required
  • Monitoring P&L's (Profit and Losses) on a monthly basis to ensure all sales, margins and overheads are in line with budget
  • Ensuring depot stocks are reconciled on daily basis
  • Proactively managing the depot customer base to minimise bad debts
  • Ensure customers adhere to contract terms
People Management:
  • Management of the depot team including recruitment, training and performance management
  • Fostering an engaged culture where staff feel that they are part of a team and that their efforts on behalf of the company are appreciated
  • Adhering to company HR policies including payroll reporting, managing discipline and employee relations
  • Ensuring that drivers show due care for their vehicles
  • Implementing preventative maintenance schedules in line with company timelines on equipment and vechiles
  • Ensuring that the vechiles are clean and in a presentable condition at all times are representing the Efora Brand.
  • Monitoring drivers End Of Day activities to ensure all procedures are followed
Sales:
  • Maintaining good relations with existing customers
  • Working closely with the Sales Team to optimise all sales leads
  • Identifying all potential new customers and having a clear strategy to acquire them
  • Working with the Office Team to ensure all processing is closed off correctly and on time
Process and Procedures:
  • To achieve clean process audits
  • To ensure all other direct procedures are adhered to in full
  • To identify and investigate discrepancies and notify the Sales Manager and Finance where applicable
Qualifications, Experience & Competencies

Experience and Qualifications:
  • Between 3- 5 years' experience in supply chain management
  • Matric and / or a diploma in supply chain / logistics management will be an advantage
