Our client is looking for an energetic and dependable licensed Code 10 Driver to join the logistics team, contributing to the company's continued growth. This role goes beyond driving, as it also includes conducting weekly stock takes across multiple warehouses.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining their assigned truck, working closely with dispatchers to plan routes and monitor deliveries. Key responsibilities include ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of goods and trade items to customers.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Valid Code 10 driver's license
- Valid PDP license
- English and Afrikaans
- Xhosa a recommendation
- At least three years' of driving a delivery Truck experience
- Stock Take and Warehousing experience is needed
- Timber industry experience will be an advantage
What you will be doing:
- Supervise the safe loading to goods onto the truck for transportation.
- Check whether the correct goods are being loaded and that the timber is of good quality.
- Supervise the safe unloading of the goods at the destinations.
- Inspect trucks for safety prior to leaving the premises and record any issues.
- Report to External Logistics Coordinator regarding any unusual occurrences on the road.
- Perform weekly Stock Take in different warehouses.
- Ensure accuracy and quality of stock in different warehouses.
- Record goods returned in the Goods Return Book and obtain all signatures.
- Check and sign for goods received from suppliers.
- Refuel vehicle regularly, checking oil, water.
- Keep the truck clean, presentable, and in good working order always.
- Follow all the rules of the road and accident procedures.
