Job Purpose
To manage (end to end) the strategy; planning; organising; negotiating; staffing directing and controlling of all aspects of projects or programmes for a portfolio in ensuring the successful implementation of IT Projects and to realise the business cluster strategy. Provides expert advice and counsel to functional/ and non functional user personnel and project teams on the most complex aspects of integration of logical groupings of technologies.To facilitate agreed solution and ensure the solution meets business requirements with minimal impact to the stability of the IT environment.
Job Responsibilities
Manage and deliver all innovation and business as usual initiatives/ work requests for the delivery team within agreed scope, budget and timelines
Monitor and report on delivery progress /delays at the Stand-Up ceremonies and other required / operational meetings
Preparing necessary reports and Dashboard - weekly and monthly.
Manage support and maintenance, application health and stability.
Identify areas of resource inefficiencies and promote optimisation through promoting multi-skilling and addressing capacity gaps by reviewing and improving work processes.
Maintain effective and productive relationships with vendors, mange vendor contracting, invoicing and payment processes for assets and teams under your management.
Manage incidents / response time within SLA > 95%
Manage System uptime maintained > 99.5% across all assets in my squads
Compliance and risk management - manage risks and audit finding to plan, ensure team compliance and policy acknowledgments are kept current
Resource and Capacity management for Innovation Projects and Business as Usual.
Overall recoveries managed to plan across: manager overtime and standby costs.
Ensure Development Plans in place for all members in each squad and status tracked.
Implement a coaching model per squad, cascaded down the levels - senior to mid, mid to junior - all team members have a coach and at minimum monthly coaching engagements.
Build a team culture of excellence, collaboration, inclusivity and competence.
Identify training, knowledge transfer and self-development opportunities and implement per squad.
Contribute to attainment of GT DEI and IP flip objectives targets through promotion, recruitment and conversion of talented DEI candidates.
Technical Knowledge
SQL, C/Python, Java program language, AIX, Oracle, Wintel, z-Linux, WAS, SAS
Essential Qualifications - NQF Level Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
Professional Qualifications/Honour's Degree
Essential Certifications Formal accreditation in professional field where applicable
Minimum Experience Level
+5yrs years relevant technical qualification (Computer Science, IT)/ certification (Programming/IT)
More than 10 years financial services/IT experience, more than
5 -7 years management experience
Experience in Safe Agile, Technical Governance, PI Planning, Release and Change Management
Management environment with demonstrable ability to work with high workload under pressure.
