DEBT CONTROLLER/ MANAGER - DURBAN Finance / Accounting
Durban North, Durban - KwaZulu Natal

Responsibilities:

• Implement arrears status classification tracker and ensure appropriate action is taken
• Review trends and develop mitigation strategies to address problem loans
• Recommend and justify investment write offs
• Develop debt management policies and procedures
• Establish process standards in line with objectives e.g. turnaround times, service standards
• Monitor and direct actions of the team ensuring policies and procedures are followed and service provided efficiently and effectively
• Continuously improve processes to ensure appropriate interventions are implemented timeously
• Ensure clients concerns are resolved efficiently
• Ensure all procedures and processes comply with required legislation and/or corporate policies
• Coordination with legal collection to ensure that repossessions are effectively managed
• Manage the performance of subordinates and implement development and corrective actions where appropriate

Experience and Qualification:

• Bachelors degree in finance/accounting or equivalent NQF level 7 Commercial qualification
• 3-5 Years experience in Credit/Debt Management
• 3 years experience in managing a team
• Advanced knowledge of the credit environment and laws
• Basic knowledge of relevant legislation e.g. Banks Act, FAIS, NCA and PFMA
• Knowledge and experience in MS Office
• Conflict Management
• Negotiation skills
• Customer skills
