We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Data Warehouse Engineer to monitor and manage the Group's data warehouse, based in Gauteng Centurion. If you are someone with the required skill set and have a fun-loving demeanour, you will fit in well with our upbeat environment!
Minimum Requirements
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred Certifications
- AWS Certified Database - Specialty
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
- Certified PostgreSQL Professional
- MongoDB Certified DBA
- MySQL Certifications
- Experience:
- 10 years of experience in data warehousing, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and BI (Business Intelligence) solutions.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing ETL processes, preferably with tools like Microsoft SSIS.
- Technical Skills
- Strong SQL skills and an understanding of relational and columnar database structures.
- Familiarity with data modelling techniques such as star schema, snowflake schema, and denormalization.
- Knowledge of performance tuning and optimization techniques for large-scale data systems.
- Experience with BI tools like QlikView can be a plus.
- Understanding big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Hive can be advantageous.
- Soft Skills:
- Analytical mindset to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
- Strong communication skills to interact with stakeholders, analysts, and other technical teams.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
- Teamwork and collaboration skills, given the cross-functional nature of data projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
Planning and strategising - Build and support the database and table schemas for both new and existing data sources for the companyxe2x80x99s data warehouse Data Analytics - Analyze Business requirements to turn data insights into effective technical data architectures.
