Job Summary
To oversee the collection, accuracy, and reporting of KZNs waste stream data, as well as internal reporting on client and MRF rebates. Manage all aspects of client communication and reporting related to waste stream data and rebate information. Additionally, manage and upskill the Data department staff through training and mentoring.

Responsibilities

Management of the Data department

  • Oversee, coach, and mentor the KZN Data department staff
  • Monitor the performance of Data Capturers and Data Administrators by reviewing capturing reports, discrepancy reports, SLAs, and outstanding collections daily, and address any issues with the relevant staff
  • Ensure backup staff is available for MRF capturing when the permanent Data Capturer is unavailable
  • Analyse the company's internal data collection and capturing processes, suggesting process improvements, and implementing new strategies
  • Submit a weekly SLA report, identifying delays in processes and proposing solutions
  • Ensure that requests made to the Data department are completed within the required SLA, and that the Data department ticketing system is administrated for the region
  • Ensure that relevant Standard Operating Procedures are documented and available to all Data staff
  • Liaise with the other regional management teams to ensure that the Data department provides accurate and timely data, and enable collaboration between departments to ensure that we can service our clients and the organization with accurate reporting
Data collection
  • Ensure that capturing deadlines are met and all required data is captured and approved on the companys electronic system and within the departments deadlines (as stipulated in the departments SLA). This includes:
  • Commercial waste stream data
  • Vendor weighbridge slips
  • Commercial collections
  • MRF weighbridge slips
  • Safe disposal documents
  • Transport and operational documents (manifests, sorter sheets, 3rd party weighbridge slips and any other relevant supporting documents)
  • Oversee the gathering and capturing of data from third-party service providers and ensure it is captured in time for client reports or by the 10th of each month (whichever comes first)
  • Ensure that all required documentation is electronically available
Data management
  • Create new client entities on the companys reporting platform
  • Create internal waste stream and rebate reports when needed
  • Analyse waste stream data to track down and report discrepancies
  • Configure initial commercial rebates and confirm accuracy
  • Calculate and submit the Data department staffs performance bonuses before the monthly financial deadlines
Client communication
  • Send out client reports according to their respective due dates and requirements
  • Communicate with new clients regarding login details for new client statistics accounts
  • Respond to clients reporting requests and queries
  • Attend client meetings when require
Secondary duties
  • Update department documentation with client report schedules and other important information that affect the regional Data operations
  • Assisting with any general Data-related duties as and when required
  • Issuing of safe disposal certificates and other documentation to all clients as required
  • Uploading and sharing of safe disposal certificates on the online reporting platform where needed
Requirements
  • Minimum degree / diploma in finance, statistics, business administration or a data / information related tertiary qualification
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in a similar role
  • Relevant experience, knowledge and skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential
  • Must be well presented, professional and have excellent communications skills
  • Possession of a drivers license and the ability to travel within the region is a bonus
