Job Description

Data Engineer required in Centurion, on a hybrid working model (3 days in office) for a 12-month contract within the telecommunications industry. This role is required to deliver value and business insights by coordinating resources and developing business solutions that align with organisational strategy. The Data Engineer will be responsible for end-to-end business intelligence data extraction, transformation, and loading processes, ensuring alignment with required standards. This includes integrating various data sources, databases, and data warehouses, as well as gathering requirements, designing, implementing, managing, and supporting critical BI solutions and reports. The role also involves Power BI expertise, data integration, data visualisation, and the design and implementation of machine learning models.Main Responsibilities:

• Deliver value and business insights through effective resource coordination and business solution development.
• Ensure alignment of end-to-end business intelligence data ETL processes with required standards.
• Integrate various data sources, databases, and data warehouses.
• Gather requirements, design, implement, manage, and support critical BI solutions and reports.
• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Prepare, clean, and model data for analytical purposes.
• Utilise Power BI, Tableau, and Looker for data visualisation.
• Design and implement machine learning models.
• Analyse large datasets to extract meaningful insights for AI-driven development.
• Develop AI-powered predictive analytics tools.
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate AI models into applications and DevOps pipelines.
• Ensure AI solutions comply with governance, security, and ethical standards.
• Support AI training initiatives.

Requirements:

• BSc Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or Information Technology.
• 5+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or AI applications.
• Certification in MCP, CCIE, MCSC, or equivalent (advantageous).
• Proficiency in various Business Intelligence tools and platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Azure Synapse), and Cloud services (Azure, AWS, etc.).
• Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and ML frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Strong expertise in data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model optimisation.
• Experience in cloud-based AI solutions (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud AI).
• Ability to translate business requirements into AI/ML solutions.
