About the Role

SpecCon Holdings is seeking a

Cyber Security and Azure Cloud Infrastructure Specialist

to support the design, implementation, and management of our cloud and server environments. This role is critical in ensuring the security, stability, and scalability of our infrastructure, while providing expertise in proactive risk management and operational support.

Key Responsibilities

Azure Cloud Management

Design, deploy, and maintain secure Azure cloud environments. Configure and manage Azure Active Directory, Virtual Networks, and Resource Groups. Monitor and optimize cloud resources to ensure cost efficiency and high performance.

Server & Infrastructure Support

Build, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers (on-premise and in cloud). Support server virtualization and containerization (VMware, Hyper-V, Docker, Kubernetes). Oversee patch management, updates, and routine maintenance of systems.

Cyber Security Operations

Implement and manage security controls in line with best practices (Zero Trust, Identity & Access Management, Firewalls, Endpoint Protection, MFA). Monitor for vulnerabilities, threats, and incidents using SIEM tools. Conduct risk assessments and implement disaster recovery and backup strategies. Ensure compliance with relevant frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, POPIA, GDPR).

Collaboration & Support

Work closely with development, IT, and business teams to support secure solution delivery. Provide escalation support for infrastructure and cloud-related issues. Create and maintain clear technical documentation and SOPs.

Key Skills & Competencies

Proven experience in

Azure cloud architecture and administration

. Strong knowledge of

cyber security frameworks

and threat mitigation strategies. Experience with

Windows Server and Linux administration

. Familiarity with

networking concepts

(DNS, VPN, firewalls, routing). Hands-on experience with

automation and Infrastructure-as-Code

(Terraform, ARM templates, PowerShell, or Ansible). Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative IT team.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (preferred). Microsoft certifications such as

AZ-104 (Azure Administrator)

,

AZ-500 (Azure Security Engineer)

, or equivalent (advantageous). Security certifications such as

CompTIA Security+

,

CISSP

, or

CEH

(advantageous).

Experience

3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure with a focus on Azure cloud. At least 2 years of hands-on experience in cyber security operations. Proven track record in managing hybrid environments (on-premise + cloud).
Job Type: Permanent

Pay: R30000,00 - R38000,00 per month
