Job Description


An opportunity exists within Safal Steel for a Customer Service Assistant to be based in KwaZulu Natal Region (Cato Ridge). The position reports to the Customer Service Manager.

Primary purpose of the job:

Administration in the Customer Service Team

Key Performance Areas:

  • Ensure all customers receive exceptional service
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all customers and prospective customers
  • Assist the Customer Service team with resolving customer complaints swiftly
  • Timeous and accurate capturing of sales orders from customers, process orders on SAP and ensure the order is placed with Planning and Production.
  • Update and maintain Order Entry Report weekly on Excel
  • Liaise with Finance Department with regards to customer credit availability
  • Capturing of invoices and forwarding to customers
  • Closing off of orders shipped within 10% tolerance on the backorder report
  • Receive customer feedback and complaints, liaise with concerned departments and follow up to ensure closure
  • Maintain an updated discount database for all customers
Minimum academic qualification:

Diploma in Business/Commercial Studies Experience: At least 3 years post qualifying experience with at least 1 year in a Sales/Customer Service role
