About you and this role
As a Customer Manager at Dow Johannesburg, South Africa, you will manage the sales of medium/large, complex and geographical diverse accounts with the key objective to maintain and grow in alignment to the sales/marketing plan. Your role will be to manage the customers, meets and exceeds sales and standard margin targets. You will manage manage account portfolio - prepares and implements account plans and leads and coordinates customer relationships at multiple levels (Purchasing, Technical, Marketing, C-Suite). You will act as "Connector" to cultivate multiple cross- Dow/Customer relationships.
You will work closely with sales related functions to build good teamwork, foster customer satisfaction and deliver business results and develop forecasts on anticipated customer product consumption. You will create and work within budget guidelines for region and responsible for business strategy implementation within assigned region, develop a sales plan for assigned territory and provide needed data to Sales & Operating Teams to efficiently manage the business. You will be accountable for continuous improvement in the area of overall productivity and efficiency.
Responsibilities
Understands needs of customer and complete value chain in order to identify areas for growth, innovation, collaboration and develops and executes sales/marketing plan, delivering both value and volume.
Collects and utilizes market intelligence to shape sales/marketing plan and to provide accurate business forecasts and leads/conducts negotiations and implements price changes and contracts.
Collaborates with other function(s) stakeholders to deliver improving CX results and uses CRM, DSR, CMT, Smart Pricing at xe2x80x9cexpertxe2x80x9d level. Utilizes CRM to document reports of call and document all selling opportunities.
Delivers growth, including cross business opportunities and understands short vs long term trade offs and is able to articulate them for win solutions.
Maintain a high degree of knowledge on PU product lines and understand key markets in depth.
Be a resource to the business on competitive Intelligence and maintain a consumption analysis on products purchased from PU and competition.
Qualifications
Minimum Master's degree required in technical degree in Chemistry/Polymers or Chemical Engineering preferred, Seven years of technical sales or sales related experience desired
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Preferred Skills
Experience working with clients in Johannesburg, South Africa will be an added advantage
Experience in Polyurethane will be an added advantage
Execute against all job requirements while maintaining very high level of safety awareness
Demonstrated experience managing existing business (negotiation, price management, issue resolution) and track record of hunting for and converting sales opportunities a plus
Demonstrate high levels of motivation and deliver outstanding sales results
