Creditors clerk

vacancy with effect from 1 September 2025 depending on the successful candidate's availability. This position is a permanent, full-time post, with the successful applicant being employed by the School Governing Body (SGB)

Minimum Requirements

Recent excellent Working experience of Pastel Partner, Microsoft excel, word and outlook Minimum of 3 years' experience in creditor's position and general finance administration Previous experience in a School environment would be beneficial Proficient in English - read, write and speak Previous working experience is a financial team of more that 5 staff members would be beneficial

Good work ethic; deadline driven; energetic; accuracy and attention to detail required; reliable and a team player; good organizational skills required

Duties and Responsibilities

Main Duties:

processing of daily supplier invoices on Pastel Partner supplier module, received from various departments (we maintain in the region of 100 suppliers) ensuring the correct attached authorization documentation is in place preparation of monthly creditors reconciliations preparation of monthly and weekly (in some cases) creditors payment requisitions communicating any supplier reconciliation queries to the relevant creditor and budget owner following up on outstanding supplier queries (eg City of Tshwane) and resolution of queries within a reasonable time frame given existing deadlines monthly updating of spreadsheets required for reporting to the GDE and internal purposes ensuring that all related documentation is filed on a regular basis assistance with related tasks assisting the procurement officer with administrative tasks such as filing and requesting of quotes or emailing through requests etc. budget control on COD payments * Record keeping of school equipment and stock
