A Credit Risk Analyst is required to support the Finance and Credit Risk team in driving IFRS 9 impairment analytics and Credit Risk analytic projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Enhancement and maintenance of the IFRS 9 solution.
Providing final IFRS9 results including economic overlay results at financial year end.
Engaging with Finance and external auditors to discuss methodology, assumptions and outputs of IFRS9 models
Analyst will be exposed to all aspects of the credit lifecycle:
o Acquisition
o Marketing
o Account Management
o Collections
Tasks include
o Establishing optimal credit risk policies and limit calculations
o Analyse current strategies
o Building A/B testing strategies
o Defining rules to manage exposure based on customer performance
o Assist the project manager, business analyst, system development and IT teams to design solutions that sets the business up for future success.
o Produce monitoring reports.
Other:
o Ensure the business is compliant with regulations and external data providers i.e. credit bureaux.
o Ad-hoc projects within the Credit Risk team

Key Requirements:
3-5 Year relevant experience (Finance modelling and or Consumer Credit Risk)
B. Degree with Mathematics/Statistics/Finance
Advanced computer literacy skills with a high proficiency in SQL, SAS and Microsoft Excel
Experience in all areas of the credit lifecycle
Proven experience with scorecards, analytics and portfolio management
Knowledge of IFRS 9 Financial Instruments standard for the calculation of credit impairments as well as the relevant Basel II, III and South African Regulations would be advantageous
