The Role
As a Credit Analyst, you will analyze the financial statements of diverse SMEs across various industry sectors in South Africa, providing crucial feedback to the Credit Committee.Your responsibilities will include:
Engaging and interviewing entrepreneurs to gain in-depth knowledge of their businesses.
Preparing credit papers for review.
Utilizing in-house and external rating agency credit rating tools and other economic indicators to support analysis.
Preparing detailed evaluation reports, assessing cash flow forecasts, and presenting balanced credit papers to the Credit Committee.
Overseeing and evaluating lending/investment decisions.
Conducting on-site evaluation missions.
Performing ongoing risk management activities on successfully funded SMEs.
Promoting and reinforcing the role of the company as a financier to SMEs, continuously improving relationships with entrepreneurs and potential partners.

Preferably, the candidate should have an undergraduate Commerce or Engineering degree or a Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE) degree.
Experience working in a family business is a plus.
Ability to take initiative, learn quickly, and strive for results.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Strong team player and motivator.
Analytical mind with strong attention to detail.
Project management skills.
Techno-savvy.
