Credit Analyst (EE)
Location: Bryanston, Gauteng
Employment Type: Permanent
Package: Negotiable, up to R450 000 per annum (inclusive of Provident Fund)
Role Purpose
The Credit Analyst will contribute to the effectiveness of the overall credit function by assessing the creditworthiness of SME and Public Sector clients for asset finance transactions. The role requires sound judgment, strong financial analysis skills, and strict adherence to the Group's Credit Policy.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Assessment & Approval
Analyse and assess credit applications to determine risk exposure and approval suitability
Approve credit facilities within delegated mandate
Escalate transactions outside of mandate to the Credit Manager
Ensure accurate, timely communication of credit decisions to internal stakeholders
Maintain ongoing liaison with Sales and clients regarding credit submissions
Assist with the development, review, and implementation of credit policies and procedures
Support the resolution of escalated credit-related queries
Credit & Financial Analysis
Analyse financial and non-financial information for SME and Public Sector clients
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments on submitted credit data
Provide clear, meaningful insights and recommendations to stakeholders
Apply sound judgment in evaluating business sustainability and repayment capacity
Application & Process Management
Maintain and monitor the full register of credit applications
Ensure accurate and up-to-date tracking using MS Excel
Support Credit Team meetings, including scheduling and minute-taking where required
Stakeholder Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Adapt communication style to suit various audiences
Engage regularly with Sales teams, Business Managers, and Funders
Share updates, insights, and guidance with peers and stakeholders
Ad-Hoc Projects
Participate in credit-related and broader business projects as required
Consult with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective implementation
Monitor financial implications and take corrective action where necessary
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Qualifications
Relevant Degree or Qualification in Credit Risk Management or
Accounting Diploma/Certificate (advantageous)
Experience
Minimum of 5 years' credit experience, preferably within asset finance, SME, or public sector lending
Key Competencies
Strong understanding of credit lending principles
Solid knowledge of business financial statements
Sound commercial and business acumen
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Proficient in MS Office (advanced Excel advantageous)
Good understanding and application of business technologies
Awareness and practical understanding of AI tools within a business environment
