Overall Responsibility
To drive Laboratory Vehicle to designated clinic and hospitals and deliver specimens from clinics to the nearest laboratory. Provide administrative support in the laboratory. Administers the receiving, capturing and printing of specimen onto the lab information system and print results. To ensure correct information is obtained and recorded and to facilitate the speedy processing of data in terms of service.
Key Performance Areas:
Ability to drive a Vehicle.
Delivery of samples, reports, and other laboratory materials: This includes collecting and delivering specimens and other materials to and from various locations
Ensure that specimen count matches waybill
Collect Vehicle consumable from the Lab
Maintaining a safe and reliable vehicle, ensure that vehicle is in good working condition and following all safety regulations
Follow daily collection schedule and adhere to schedule in order not to compromise lab work
Maintain a logbook for distance travelled, Fuel consumption and refuelling the vehicle
Keep vehicles clean and carry out necessary safety checks
Operate the vehicle with care and consideration for other road users
Preparing accident and incident reports when necessary
Always obey traffic rules
Providing routine administrative support
Timely capture all data according to set targets and ensure high quality and accuracy of data
Communicating with laboratory personnel and clients, providing updates on delivery status and communicating with clients as needed
Identify and report technical errors with data captured to supervisors in order to correct errors
Following established delivery routes and schedules, adhering to designated routes and timelines for deliveries.
Keep all data forms and logbooks for audit purposes as required by the standard operating procedures
Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, keeping track of all deliveries made and any associated paperwork
Ensure data completeness and accuracy on all forms
Qualifications and Experience:
Grade 12
Two year experience working as a driver
Drivers license plus Professional Driver Permit (PDP)
Knowledge, Skills, and competencies:
Fluent in English and Zulu
Ability to maintain accurate records
Knowledge of information
Ability to cross check for consistency
Time management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail
Planning and organising
Basic Numeric skills.
