Job Summary
A unique opportunity awaits an experienced and passionate couple to join a small wilderness camp
in the heart of the Selati Game Reserve, a private Big 5 reserve renowned for its exclusivity,
biodiversity, and conservation ethos. The ideal candidates will work in tandem to deliver a world-
class safari and guest experience, combining warm hospitality, immersive guiding, and great food.
Position 1: Lead Trails Guide

• Conduct daily game drives, guided walks, and immersive nature experiences in accordance

• with Selati Game Reserve SOPs

• Share in-depth knowledge of the flora, fauna, history, and ecology of the Selati region.

• Ensure guest safety and satisfaction at all times, delivering engaging and educational bush

• experiences.

• Contribute to lodge hosting duties, guest engagement, and conservation efforts.

Position 2: Chef

• Design and deliver high-quality, seasonal menus

• Oversee the entire kitchen operation, including stock control, hygiene and budgeting.

• Ensure all meals cater to various dietary requirements and enhance the guest experience.

• Plan meals aligned with game drives and guest itineraries.

Camp Management: Shared

• Oversee general maintenance of the camp facilities and equipment, ensuring high standards

of cleanliness and functionality. * Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Assist with food and beverage service, housekeeping, and front-of-house operations.

• Handle administrative tasks, including guest information, stock takes, and FOH reports.

• Ensure a seamless and welcoming guest experience with a focus on service excellence.

• Supervise support lodge staff

Requirements
Position 1: Lead Trails Guide

• Minimum Nature Site Guide NQF2

• Valid PrDP, First Aid Level 1, DEAT-registered.

• Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a similar Big 5 reserve.

• Rifle competency with ARH qualification and own rifle

• Well-presented, personable, and passionate about conservation and wildlife education.

• Strong communication and storytelling skills.

Position 2: Chef

• Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a Head or Sous Chef in a lodge or big 5 game

• environment.

• Culinary qualification preferred.

• Strong knowledge of food costing, menu planning, and kitchen hygiene standards (HACCP or

• similar).

• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
