Duties/Pligte
Offering career counselling and subject choice guidance to learners, both individually and in groups.
Presenting related information sessions and workshops to influencer groups, such as Life Orientation educators and parents.
Performing ethical and accurate psychometric assessments, including, but not limited to, the DAT-S, DAT-L, JPQ, MB10 and CIP assessments.
Taking charge of the administration associated with providing career counselling and psychometrical services to the designated learner groups.
Administering, scoring and interpreting tests, and writing results reports.
Building strategic partnerships with designated schools.
Maintaining a sound knowledge of study programmes offered at higher education institutions.
Voorsien loopbaanvoorligting en vakkeusebystand aan leerders, sowel individueel as in groepe.
Bied verbandhoudende inligting- en werksessies aan vir beinvloedergroepe, soos Lewensorientering-opvoeders en ouers.
Voer etiese en akkurate psigometriese assesserings uit, wat onder meer die DAT-S-, DAT-L-, JPQ-, MB10- en CIP-assessering insluit.
Behartig die administrasie verbonde aan die voorsiening van loopbaanvoorligting en psigometriese dienste aan die aangewese leerdergroepe.
Neem toetse af, dien punte daaraan toe en vertolk dit, en skryf verslae oor die uitslae.
Bou strategiese vennootskappe met aangewese skole.
Handhaaf 'n behoorlike kennis van studieprogramme wat by hoeronderwysinstellings aangebied word.
Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
At least a master's degree in counselling or educational psychology.
Registration as an educational or counselling psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
The ability to communicate in a multilingual environment in either English or Afrikaans.
Excellent computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) as well as MS Teams/Zoom/other suitable virtual meeting platforms.
A minimum of three years' work experience in career counselling for high-school learners (including subject choice guidance).
Adequate professional training, knowledge and understanding of psychometric assessments as well as professional career counselling skills, as prescribed by the profession.
Expertise in the use of applicable psychometric assessments.
Academic reading, research and writing skills applicable to psychometric assessments and report writing.
The ability to test both in-person and online administered assessments.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to work both independently and in a team.
The ability to work under pressure.
The ability to work in diverse community contexts.
Administrative and management skills to oversee the Careers@Maties project.
The ability to apply data in decision-making and reporting.
Ethical and professional conduct.
Good presentation skills.
