Job Summary

Our client, a rapidly growing Belgian company, mainly active in xe2x80x9cMade-to-Measurexe2x80x9d construction, is looking for a Cost Engineer (Quanity Surveyor) to join their new team based in Stellenbosch, South Africa.

As a Cost Engineer also know as a Quotation Calculator or Cost Estimator, your primary focus is on estimating the costs associated with construction projects. You'll be responsible for analysing project plans, specifications, and requirements to calculate the costs of materials, labor, equipment, and other resources needed for a project. Your role involves preparing accurate project quotations for clients and contractors.

About the company:

• We offer total solutions: with foundations, supporting structure in steel, stainless steel, or aluminum up to finishing with glass, wood, plastic, or a combination of different materials.
• We have our own measuring & engineering department and an experienced team of project leaders and engineers.
• Production takes place entirely under our own management: certified welders in our workshop and permanent teams for assembly. This way we can guarantee the quality

Your Profile:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience: A solid educational foundation and/or relevant industry experience.
• 3 Years relevant Industry experience
• Technical aptitude: Experience in a technical environment is preferred (particularly in a related field such as technology and metal). However, we also welcome motivated graduates who are eager to learn.
• Key strengths: Solution-oriented mindset, meticulousness, independence, a strong sense of responsibility, and a proactive approach.

Skills:

To excel in this role, you'll need the following:

• Strong analytical and mathematical skills,
• A deep understanding of construction materials and processes,
• Proficiency in cost estimating software
• The ability to collaborate effectively with project stakeholders to ensure precise pricing.

Working with Us:

• Report directly to the Sales Manager.

Your Responsibilities:

• Thoroughly analyse price inquiries: Assess the feasibility of customer expectations and requirements.
• Examine plans, specifications, and measurements: Dive into project details with precision.
• Provide accurate project cost estimation: Calculate project costs based on meticulous plan, specification, and measurement analysis.
• Review supplier quotations: Solicit quotes from suppliers and evaluate them comprehensively.
• Collaborate with project management: Consult with project management to fortify your calculations.
• Support the sales department: Stand by the sales team in defending our quotations.
• Conduct post-project cost analysis: Assess completed projects post-calculation.
• Provide insights and briefings to project management for seamless execution.
