The Cost Controller is responsible for monitoring, analysing, and managing costs and expenditures to ensure efficient use of resources and adherence to budgets. This role supports financial planning and decision-making by providing accurate cost data and recommendations for cost-saving strategies.

The incumbent will provide input and advice to facilitate project governance in the key areas of cost and risk.

Mission: The Cost Controller is responsible for monitoring, analysing, and managing costs and expenditures to ensure efficient use of resources and adherence to budgets. This role supports financial planning and decision-making by providing accurate cost data and recommendations for cost-saving strategies.

The incumbent will provide input and advice to facilitate project governance in the key areas of cost and risk.



Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
Budgeting & Forecasting:Prepare and manage budgets for projects. Forecast future costs and identify financial risks. Track actual costs against budgeted figures and explain variances for the projects.

Financial/Cost ControlEnsure the accurate and concise project contract budget reporting is completed on time. Implement and maintain Acciona Energia's cost control systems. Review and identify project cash flow requirements and communicate such to the Project Manager. Provide the Project Manager and the project leadership team with project trend analysis. Finalise CAPEX project financial close-out reports. Provide feedback to estimating department on completed projects for future reference.

CommunicationLiaises with project teams to keep informed of all relevant aspects of project reporting to assist in problem solving. Work closely with project managers, finance teams, and subcontractors. Effectively influence and communicate with all levels of management and project stakeholders. Work collaboratively in a global matrix organisation.

Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ):Promotes a positive safety and environmental culture and is a safety leader within the project team Makes themselves aware of all the HSEQ responsibilities as detailed Systems and Procedures Manuals

Key Result AreasTimely and coordinated reporting to enable the project to be delivered on budget. Maintain an effective program reporting structure to measure and communicate performance to the management team and the client. Required Skills and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:A qualification in construction management or engineering field is highly desirable. Must have industry experience in similar complex construction project management environment.

Minimum Experience:At least 6 years' experience in cost control management in large infrastructure projects. Strong written and verbal communication capability. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Ability to influence and communicate effectively.

Job-Specific Skills:Demonstrated ability to analyses contractual / legal issues and provide solutions through appropriate problem-solving techniques. Highly developed commercial acumen accompanied by proven negotiation and inter-relationship skills evidenced by effective dispute resolutions. Be able to quickly grasp concepts and apply innovative options to the status quo. Clear and definitive communication - written and verbal accompanied by competent presentation ability. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others. Demonstrated relevant leadership skills. Ensuring all relevant regulatory requirements are satisfied. Highly competent in planning and organizing work schedules. High attention to detail. Current Driver's License. Flexibility to travel locally as required.
