An opportunity for a commercially minded Cost Accountant to join a highly respected, operationally complex environment based in the Cape Winelands. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys getting close to production, understands cost drivers, and thrives in a hands-on setting where accuracy directly impacts decision-making.

This is a permanent role within a well-established, values-driven business with strong operational depth. You'll be responsible for end-to-end cost accounting, working closely with operations and finance to ensure accurate costing, meaningful analysis, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate product and production costings
• Implement and manage Activity-Based Costing (ABC) models
• Maintain and analyse Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Perform cost variance analysis and investigate discrepancies
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and margin analysis
• Partner with operational teams to improve cost efficiency and controls

Job Experience & Skills Required

• BCom Degree (Accounting / Finance essential)
• 5+ years' experience in a Cost Accountant or similar role
• Proven hands-on experience with ABC costing and BOMs
• Strong Excel skills and exposure to ERP systems
• Experience in manufacturing, agriculture, FMCG, or production-driven environments highly advantageous
• Detail-oriented, structured, and operationally minded

Salary & Location

• R540 000 p.a.
• Stellenbosch - Cape Town (on-site)
