WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Cost Accountant

will be responsible to ensure sound financial practices and accurate reporting specifically in inventory and costing areas including management information and requests. In addition this role will be responsible for accurate and profit quotation calculations within market parameters and inputs. The person will be accountable for supporting the finance department's objectives of sound financial internal controls, compliance to all internal policies and procedures and compliance to all relevant external legislation and IFRS.


KEY RESPONSABILITIES

General:




Responsible for accurate manufacturing costing on site including review of Bill of materials, part operations etc. including inputs to monthly costing run. Ensure correct reporting of stock levels - quantities, cost and valuation. Monthly financial reporting per site including product cost deviations per product and plants; material usage, inventory balances, operating cost and other KPI's (productivity, recoveries, etc.). Supply monthly inputs to financial reporting as well as month end processes (journals, recons etc.). Provide training and assistance on the ERP System functionality across all Sites. Ensure accuracy of ERP data and investigate issues identified. Identify risks which relate to Inventory and products which could have financial implications for RDM including requirement for stock provisions and write-offs. Assist sites with cycle and full stock counts. Monitoring all work order deviations, closing and re scheduling thereof. Review and maintenance of certain material master information including account allocation. Provide guidance and support to other departments including Planning, operations, Logistics etc. (e.g. MRP). Procedural recommendation and operational requirements to ensure sufficient financial controls. Liaise with Internal and External Auditors. Assist Sites with budget and forecasting processes including tariff/activity rates for manufacturing. Provide inputs on stock and material usage for monthly prognosis, forecast and budgets. Oversee the Site compliance in respect on Month-end and Year-end procedures. Represent finance on the procurement reviews. Key Finance contact on site for financial queries. Ad hoc requests for information from various role-players.

Quotation Responsibilities:




Attend pre-contract review meetings and develop understanding of RFQ requirements and inputs required for submission to customers. Prepare and submit inputs of manufacturing cost (financial costs) on RFQ's. Discuss quotation calculations with other stakeholders (primarily Business Development & Sales) and maintain good financial principles for ongoing profitability. Adheres and implements Rheinmetall Denel Munitions Policies and Procedures and ensures compliance to ISO Standards with respect to SHE/Quality/Environmental/Energy. WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
National Diploma in Cost and Management accounting (NQF 6+) CIMA (preferable) At least 4 years costing experience in a manufacturing environment. Fully computer literate (particularly Excel) and knowledge of ERP systems (preferably SAP S/4 Hana). Knowledge of IFRS accounting guidelines. Ability to apply skills across a broad spectrum of financial disciplines (costing, accounting, asset management, etc.). Ability to work independently and under pressure as well as multi-tasking and flexibility. Sound knowledge of Financial and Controlling principles. Ability to communicate in technical conversations and meetings. Analytical, reasoning and problem solving skills. WHAT WE OFFER YOU
