Cost Accountant

Job Description
Reporting to the Financial Executive. The main purpose of the role will be to ensure that all inventory costing elements of the business are consistently and accurately recorded and monitored.
Overview of key activities:
- Inventory valuation including cost roll-ups
- Reconciliation of inventory general-ledger to warehouse sub-ledger
- Landed cost maintenance
- Master data management
- Import permit (470.03) and duty rebates management
- Production and labour efficiency tracking
- Production orders closing and providing feedback
- Analytical costing responsibilities and variance analysis
- Capital acquisition tracking in projects module
- Fixed asset register management
- External audit support
- Assist with developing and maintaining key internal controls
- Perform an active role in implementing business system improvements
- Perform any other duties as deemed necessary and requested by the Financial Executive
- Reporting responsibilities
- Management of interns
- B.Com (Management Accounting, Accounting) - Essential
- 3 years Cost Accounting experience - Essential (preferably in a Manufacturing Environment)
- MS Office experience (MS Excel - at least intermediate level) - Essential
- CIMA (or studying towards) - Preferred
- ERP integrated Business system experience - Preferred
- Ethical with a high level of integrity
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
- Embrace and solve problems, critical thinker
- Diligent and takes owner ship of assigned responsibilities
- Undergo a screening process i.e., PPA and TEIQ
- Must be prepared to work overtime at short notice
