Job Purpose

We are seeking a

Cost Accountant

who will play a key role in strengthening our internal reporting capabilities. The role is dedicated to analysing and managing the cost structures across various entities, departments, and projects within the Group, ensuring accurate reporting, informed decision-making, and value creation. The successful candidate will work closely with leadership, drive financial clarity across a diverse Group and build impactful costing frameworks to inform strategic decisions.



This position will report to the

Chief

Financial Officer

and will be based in

Kempton Park, Johannesburg.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct detailed costing and analysis across the Group, including but not limited to, cost per tails, shared services allocations, projects, departmental and entity costing, offshore contract costing and investigation, and inventory and aircraft costing. Support preparation of the

management pack

in collaboration with the Finance Manager. Ensure compliance with

IFRS accounting standards

in all reporting. Analyse data, identify anomalies, and investigate variances. Provide recommendations and value-added insights to the

CEO, CFO, and shareholders

. Contribute to process improvements and strengthen internal cost management practices.

Key Requirements

Qualifications & Education

CIMA qualification

(or equivalent professional qualification in Management/Cost Accounting). Strong foundation in

IFRS accounting principles

.



Experience


Proven experience in

cost accounting / management accounting

with demonstrable costing exposure. Aviation industry experience is advantageous, but

candidates with strong costing backgrounds in other industries are encouraged

. Experience in

internal reporting, costing models, and data-driven analysis

.



Knowledge and Skills


Advanced proficiency in

Microsoft Excel

. Experience working with

ERP systems

and comfortable handling large datasets. Strong

analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills

. Ability to

run projects independently

, identify cost drivers, and recommend improvements. Strong communication skills, with the ability to present findings to senior leadership and stakeholders. High attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and accountability
