to support our Laduree South Africa division. This role oversees cost control, stock management, and financial reporting across multiple Laduree sites, including tearooms, coffee shops, karts, and the production laboratory.
The ideal candidate will act as the financial custodian of store-level operations, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and efficiency across all cost-related processes. You will work closely with operations, procurement, and culinary teams to drive profitability and maintain world-class standards for this luxury brand.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting
Monitor and consolidate daily sales, expenses, and cash-up reports from all Laduree locations.
Ensure accuracy of daily figures and reconciliations.
Resolve reporting discrepancies with store managers promptly.
Stock & Inventory Management
Oversee all stock movement in and out of stores and the laboratory.
Track wastage, shrinkage, and stock variances according to company procedures.
Partner with procurement and operations to ensure correct cost allocation and stock efficiency.
Auditing & Compliance
Conduct regular financial and stock audits across all sites.
Ensure adherence to accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies.
Flag risks, irregularities, or non-compliance to senior management.
Menu Costing & Profitability
Maintain and update recipe costing and menu pricing.
Analyse product profitability and margins across the Laduree offering.
Adjust costing models based on ingredient costs, imports, or currency fluctuations.
Work closely with chefs to balance quality and cost efficiency.
Reporting & Insights
Prepare monthly and quarterly cost analysis and variance reports.
Provide insights into store-level profitability and operational performance.
Deliver ad-hoc financial analysis to support management decisions.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Professional accounting certification (CIMA, SAIPA, SAICA) preferred.
3-5 years' experience in cost accounting, ideally in hospitality, retail, or F&B.
Micros Simphony experience is mandatory.
Strong knowledge of stock control and cost management.
Advanced Excel skills; experience with Xero, Sage, or ERP systems.
Experience with POS-integrated stock systems is advantageous.
Knowledge of IFRS for SMEs and VAT/tax compliance.
