Cost Accountant
Job Description
Monitor and manage material, labour, and overhead costs across the full production cycle to ensure cost control and efficiency.
Track inventory levels and raw material usage, analysing variances to maintain accuracy and support cost optimisation.
Deliver detailed insights on product pricing, cost structures, and margin performance to guide strategic business decisions.
Contribute to financial forecasting and budgeting processes and compile accurate cost-related reports.
Utilise ERP systems to improve cost tracking, reporting accuracy, and overall system efficiency.
Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to identify cost-saving initiatives and strengthen process controls.
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 4- 6 YEARS of experience in cost or management accounting
Knowledge in BOMs, standing costings, work-in-progress and margin analysis
Skilled in ERP systems (Syspro, Sage, Excel)
Inventory and production tracking experience
Qualification:
Bcom or National Diploma in Cost and Management Accounting, Finance or related
CIMA/ACCA/SAIPA
