MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 12 / Standard 10 Certificate with Mathematics / Accounting. Diploma in Management Accounting / Cost and Management Accounting / Accounting. Code 08 (B) Driver's Licence.

Advantageous

: Degree in Management Accounting / Cost and Management Accounting / Accounting.

Advantageous:

Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Management Accounting / Cost and Management Accounting / Accounting.

Advantageous:

CIMA Accreditation and Registration.

EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

2 - 4 years practical experience in Cost and management accounting in Plant / Mining environment.

DUTIES (including but not limited to):

Provide a professional cost and management accounting function to the mine. The role supports operational decision making by providing accurate, timely and relevant cost analysis and financial reporting to management. This includes tracking and monitoring the total mine production costs as well as contributing to efficiency improvement initiatives. To support Line management in the formulation of short and long-term plans. Assist in the preparation of the 5-year budget process. Compile the individual departmental budgets with detailed cost line-item inputs. Capture the budget into the accounting system. Maintain the JDE costing structure. Generate journals to ensure that costs are allocated correctly. Conduct investigations on out-of-parameter ratio analyses and expenditure and report to the Management Accountant. Conduct cost variance analysis to establish trends and patterns and investigate material deviations from budgets. Provide operational support and service to line managers. Assist with providing forecasts for the business. Prepare and publish monthly departmental actual expenditure reports with commentary on major cost drivers and provide advice on over expenditure. Assist in the preparation, analysis and submission of the monthly operational report/management accounts accurately and within the set target time. Perform a theoretical stock reconciliation of WIP and Final products. Perform Stock/inventory valuation after the stock reconciliation. Provide information and documentation required by internal and external auditors as needed.
