Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Operate, monitor, and maintain various filling machines (e.g., piston fillers, vacuum fillers, pressure fillers, and tube fillers) for cosmetic products. Set up filling lines according to product specifications, ensuring accuracy in volume, weight, and sealing. Perform in-process checks in line with ISO9001 and GMP requirements. Record production data, machine settings, and batch information as per SOPs and quality documentation standards. Assist with machine changeovers for different product types, ensuring minimal downtime. Conduct first-line troubleshooting and minor machine adjustments to maintain efficiency. Identify, report, and escalate any deviations, defects, or non-conformances. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of filling machines, tools, and the surrounding production area in compliance with GMP and hygiene standards. Follow Health & Safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE. Work collaboratively with Quality Control, Maintenance, and Production teams to ensure smooth workflow and product quality.

Effective communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications & Experience

Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent (NQF Level 4). 1-3 years' experience in a

cosmetic, pharmaceutical, or FMCG filling/production environment

. Hands-on experience with different filling machines (manual, semi-automatic, and fully automatic). Prior knowledge of

ISO9001

and

GMP

systems essential. Technical/mechanical aptitude advantageous. Willingness to work shifts and overtime when required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods. Comfortable working with machinery and production chemicals (training & PPE provided). Capable of lifting and moving stock and packaging materials within safe limits.
