Job Description

The Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals that meet the dietary needs of elderly residents in accordance with health, hygiene, and safety standards. This role includes planning menus, preparing meals, ensuring special dietary requirements are met (including soft diets, diabetic, and low-sodium options), and maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:



Prepare breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner according to the planned menu. Follow dietary guidelines and residents' medical or nutritional requirements. Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and kitchen cleanliness. Assist with menu planning and food stock ordering. Monitor portion control to reduce waste and manage budgets. Serve meals on time and in a respectful and friendly manner. Work collaboratively with caregivers, nurses, and management to ensure resident satisfaction.

Requirements:



Experience in preparing meals in a residential, healthcare, hospitality, or similar environment. Knowledge of dietary standards for the elderly. Ability to work independently and under pressure. Good communication and time-management skills. A commitment to high standards of care and service.
Must reside in the Midvaal area
