The Cook assists in the preparation and cooking of food, ensuring that dishes are prepared according to recipes and quality standards. This role involves working in various kitchen stations, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting the kitchen team in delivering high-quality meals.
Duties:
Assist in preparing ingredients and cooking food according to recipes and menu specifications. This includes chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and assembling dishes.
Work in designated kitchen stations such as the grill, saute, or pastry station. Follow instructions from senior chefs and ensure that all dishes are prepared to the correct specifications.
Monitor the quality of ingredients and finished dishes to ensure they meet the restaurant's standards for taste, appearance, and portion size.
Assist in managing and rotating stock, ensuring that ingredients are fresh and properly stored. Report any shortages or issues to senior staff.
Work effectively with other kitchen staff, including line cooks, sous chefs, and kitchen assistants, to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations
