Job Summary We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Conveyancing Assistant/Secretary to support a sole practitioner conveyancing attorney who works from a home-based office in Rosebank. The role requires independent management of conveyancing administration from instruction to registration. Core office hours are mornings , with the flexibility to continue work remotely in the afternoons as needed. Key Responsibilities o Manage property transfer files from instruction through to registration o Draft and prepare conveyancing documentation and correspondence with the aid of LexisNexis o Liaise with clients, bond & cancellation attorneys, deeds office correspondents & personnel, SARS and local authorities o Request and follow up on rates, levy, transfer duty clearances, compliance certificates and related documents o Track file progress and ensure all timelines and compliance requirements are met o Manage Deeds Office lodgement and follow-ups (directly or through correspondents) o Maintain accurate, organised file records (digital and/or physical) o Prepare invoices and assist with basic final account administration Minimum requirements: o Prior conveyancing experience is essential o Solid working knowledge of property transfer processes o Comfortable using LexisNexis conveyancing software and digital document tools.
