Job Description

An opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to join our team. The individual will control all aspects of Air and Sea Exports and Imports shipments, including abnormal shipments and ensure ongoing proactive communication.
Qualifications & Experience
- Matric Certificate is essential
- Industry related training. i.e: Airfreight / Customs / Seafreight courses
- Must have worked in a similar position for at least 2-3 years
- Have a solid background in Air and Sea Exports and Imports
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all shipments are handled in line with client requirements and all risks are identified and mitigated
- Ensure proactive communication with all parties, including tracking and tracing of shipments
- Ensure proactive, value add communications to our clients at all times
- Identify potential risk areas and implement mitigating strategies, to ensure that neither delays nor penalties are incurred
- Ensure the prompt resolution of client and recon queries and acquittals to prevent write offs
- Investigate opportunities for additional value added products and processes specific to client needs
- Support the team in the take on of a new client
- Ensure all shipments are invoiced in line with clients rates and requirements
Skills & Competencies
- Well-developed negotiation skills
- Expert written and verbal communications skills
- Highly developed computer skills are essential
- Extensive all round knowledge of Air and Sea Exports and Imports
- Good understanding of Customs procedures
- Good working knowledge of the various legislation that governs the business
