Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented Control Room Operator to join our fast-paced operations Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for CCTV surveillance, tracking and monitoring of cargo, vehicles and consignments, and ensuring the smooth coordination of staff and shift operations. This is a high-pressure environment requiring quick thinking, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work under minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

CCTV Oversight & Surveillance Monitor multiple high-definition CCTV camera feeds in real time. Identify, assess, and escalate unusual or suspicious activity. Maintain visual oversight of key assets, facilities, and transport routes. Vehicle and Cargo Tracking Track and report on vehicle movements using GPS and telematics platforms. Monitor and verify the movement of consignments and cargo throughout the logistics chain. Detect and respond to route deviations, unauthorized stops, or schedule anomalies. Logistics & Transport Monitoring Liaise with drivers, transport managers, and security personnel to ensure real-time communication. Ensure adherence to route plans, delivery schedules, and safety protocols. Maintain accurate records of all movements and incidents. Shift Coordination & Administrative Duties Coordinate staff handovers, shift rotations, and break schedules. Log incidents, vehicle movement updates, and shift changes accurately. Generate daily, weekly, and incident-specific reports.
Requirements:

Matric or equivalent (a tertiary qualification in Logistics, Security, or Administration is advantageous). Minimum 5 years tracible experience in a control room or logistics/surveillance environment. Proven experience with CCTV systems, tracking software, and telematics. Strong administrative and report writing skills. Ability to remain calm, focused, and decisive under pressure. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong multitasking ability and attention to detail. Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as part of a 24/7 operation.
