Essence of the job:
Our client is seeking enthusiastic and specialized HV Project/Contracts Managers to join our team. This is a key role for experienced professionals ready to procure and manage HV construction projects from inception to successful, safe, and profitable completion-on time and to the highest standards of safety and quality.
Qualification:
NDip/BTech/BEng in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current preferred).
Trade-tested electricians (optional but advantageous if they've worked their way up).
Registered or eligible for registration with ECSA as a Pr Tech Eng or Pr Eng.
Project management certification (PMP, Prince2, or equivalent) is an advantage.
Must understand and comply with the OHS Act, SANS10142, and relevant HV regulations.
Minimum Requirements:
8 - 15 years in the electrical industry, with at least 5-8 years focused on medium and high voltage installations (typically 11kV - 132kV and up).
End-to-end project delivery experience includes tendering, planning, execution, commercial management, and closeout.
Strong background in HV substation and reticulation works, overhead and underground HV cabling, switchgear installations, protection schemes, and interfacing with utilities (e.g., Eskom, City Power).
Experience in utility-scale infrastructure projects and data centers.
Site and contract management under FIDIC, NEC, or JBCC contract frameworks.
