Our client is seeking s seeking a highly experienced Contract Manager (Tender Specialist) to lead full end-to-end tender and contract management. This role is critical in ensuring compliant, transparent, and value-for-money procurement outcomes.
?? This role requires proven, hands-on experience managing the entire tender lifecycle from initiation to contract award and post-award contract management.
In addition to tender management, the role focuses on strengthening member participation and collaborative procurement, growing shared contracts aligned to member needs (not sales-driven business development)

Position Details:
Contract Duration: 3 Years (Renewable)
Commencement Date: ASAP
Location: Midrand (On-Site)
Experience Required: Minimum 5+ years in a similar role
Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Management, Law, Finance, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
Experience (Non-Negotiable)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in procurement and tender management
  • Proven end-to-end tender management experience (from initiation to award and contract management)
  • Experience in public-sector or regulated procurement environments
  • Experience in Construction, ICT, and/or Facilities tenders will be advantageous
  • Candidates from legal, finance, or construction backgrounds with strong procurement exposure are encouraged to apply

Key Responsibilities:
  • End-to-End Tender & Contract Management (Core Requirement)
Manage the full tender lifecycle, including:
  • Tender initiation and needs analysis
  • Scope and specification development
  • Compilation and publication of tender documentation
  • Evaluation, adjudication, reporting, and award recommendations
  • Guide member institutions in developing clear, compliant, and fit-for-purpose specifications
  • Ensure all tender processes are transparent, auditable, and legally defensible
  • Manage contract awards, renewals, variations, and extensions
  • Monitor supplier performance, service delivery, and contractual compliance
