Job Title: Contract Mine Manager
Location: Kathu, Northern Cape
Job Type: Full-Time (On-site)
Salary Range: R30,000 - R40,000 per month
To manage and coordinate all aspects of contracted security services across a mining operation. This role ensures compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and applicable legislation. Responsibilities include safeguarding personnel, assets, and infrastructure while maintaining a secure operating environment in line with mining industry standards.
Responsibilities:

• Oversee security service provider contracts and ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
• Conduct performance reviews and implement corrective actions when required.
• Liaise with procurement and legal teams regarding contract renewals, changes, or terminations.
• Supervise daily security operations, including access control, patrolling, surveillance, and emergency response.
• Ensure optimal deployment and coverage of contractors across the site.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between the mine and external stakeholders, including contractors, government entities, and law enforcement.
• Provide regular briefings to site leadership on security matters.
• Foster and maintain good relations with local communities in alignment with corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices.
• Ensure compliance with applicable mining, health & safety, and private security regulations.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for audits, inspections, and legal matters.
• Lead investigations into security breaches, theft, or violent incidents.
• Lead and guide the internal security team and ensure contractors meet required competency levels.
• Conduct training sessions and enforce SOPs.
• Manage team rosters, track performance against KPIs, and handle disciplinary processes.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
• PSIRA Grade A Certification (mandatory)
• Tertiary qualification in Security Management, Risk Management, or similar field (advantageous)
• 5-8 years of experience in security management, preferably in the mining or heavy industry sector
• Proven track record in outsourced contract management
• Sound knowledge of South African mining legislation, OHS Act, and private security regulations
• Business Purpose Firearm Competency (required)
