WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The
Contract Manager
is responsible for the full execution of customer ammunition contracts at the Somerset West site --ensuring that all contract obligations are fulfilled, quality and delivery requirements are met, and internal coordination across departments is seamless.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Take ownership for executing customer contracts (primarily international clients) from handover by Sales through to final delivery.
Coordinate internally across Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales, and Finance to ensure contract delivery milestones are met.
Plan, track, and maintain accurate delivery schedules using inputs from all internal stakeholders.
Proactively manage contract risks, scope, and schedule within the SAP environment, paying a high level of attention to detail.
Liaise with clients for product acceptance, quality inspections, and lot acceptance processes.
Lead contract status meetings and keep all stakeholders informed and aligned.
Ensure legal, export compliance, and contractual requirements are adhered to throughout execution.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with both internal teams and external customers.
Drive contract discipline and accountability within internal teams to meet agreed timelines.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
Bachelor's Degree (NQF Level 7) in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
At least 3 years' experience in contracts/project management environment.
Experience in Defense orientated products and projects would be advantageous but not essential
Excellent command of the English language (verbal and written) is essential; must be fluent and able to communicate effectively with international clients and internal stakeholders.
Expert level of understanding of the principles of contract management
Experience in Defense orientated products and projects would be advantageous but not essential.
Strong working knowledge of SAP (sales order, production tracking, material master, etc.).
Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Project (or equivalent scheduling tools).
Strong quantitative reasoning and structured problem-solving ability, with a track record of working confidently with technical data, schedules, and performance metrics
Proven experience in line management, leadership and coordination of cross-functional project teams
