Contract Management Accountant Finance
Durban - KwaZulu Natal - South Africa
Our client, an international trade, logistics and distribution company, is currently looking for a Management Accountant for a 3-month Contract who applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Commerce Honours
- Communication skills and solid interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills.
- General accounting system knowledge
- 3 years' experience in a logistics background
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ensure accurate and timely month end reporting for the business unit(s), including:
- Maintain clean general ledgers and sub-ledgers, ensuring balance sheet accounts are reconciled fully and reconciling items are addressed and cleared on a timely basis
- Assist in the review and update to the BU allocations based on discussions with department heads on a quarterly basis
- Preparation of monthly budget vs actual financial analysis to be presented to BU department heads
- Assist in the preparation of monthly cashflow forecasts
- Assist in the preparation of the annual BU budgets and quarterly reforecasts for senior management
- Assist with the preparation taxation and statutory returns as required
- Assist with the preparation of the annual statutory financial statements. Where applicable audit file preparation and assistance with external auditors
- Assist on improving processes and systems
- And any other duties/tasks relevant to the position as delegated by Management.
