We have a healthy, hybrid opportunity for a social-first Content & Community Lead at a global healthcare group based in Cape Town. This is a mid-senior, hands-on role for someone who is as comfortable setting strategy as they are curating and writing content themselves.
You'll own and execute the brand's content, social media, influencer, and community strategy, with a clear focus on building a highly engaged, highly loyal community. From ideation, writing and platform management through to influencer relationships, partnerships, and reporting, this role sits at the centre of how the brand communicates and connects.
While social media is the primary execution channel, the impact of this role goes beyond digital. You'll help shape real-world events, activations, ambassador and affiliate programmes, and community experiences, ensuring everything ladders up to a consistent, credible brand voice and long-term growth.

Work Model: Hybrid - 3 days in-office, 2 days remote
Responsibilities
Content Strategy & Brand Voice

  • Define and own the brand's content and social media strategy
  • Own and protect a consistent brand voice, tone, and narrative across channels
  • Translate broader brand, product, and campaign strategy into content-led execution
Content Planning & Cross-Channel Alignment
  • Own the master content calendar across the business
  • Work closely with the digital marketing team to ensure alignment and cross-pollination across: Social media, Email marketing, Paid media, Podcast, and Blog and long-form content
  • Ensure content themes, messaging, and timing are cohesive and mutually reinforcing
  • Act as the central point of coordination to avoid silos and duplication.
Content Creation & Execution
  • Plan content calendars aligned to campaigns, launches, and always-on brand themes
  • Write captions, scripts, hooks, and content briefs
  • Work closely with the internal design team to bring content to life
  • Personally create content where appropriate (e.g. writing, filming, basic editing)
  • Maintain a high bar for quality, relevance, and consistency.
Short-Form Video & Photography Planning
  • Plan and coordinate content shoots for short-form video and still photography
  • Define shoot requirements based on content needs and channel strategy
  • Work with internal teams, creators, or external partners to execute shoots efficiently
  • Ensure content captured supports ongoing, scalable content production.
Influencer, Ambassador & Affiliate Management
  • Recruit, onboard, and manage influencers, brand ambassadors, and affiliates
  • Build long-term, authentic relationships with creators and partners
  • Manage seeding, collaborations, usage rights, and performance
  • Run and optimise an always-on ambassador/affiliate programme.
Community Building & Activation
  • Own the brand's community-building strategy
  • Actively engage with the community across platforms
  • Translate online engagement into real-world community touchpoints, events, and activations
  • Foster trust, advocacy, and long-term brand loyalty
  • Ensure community interactions reflect the Brand values and positioning.
Brand Partnerships
  • Identify and manage aligned brand partners and collaborations
  • Execute partnerships that support reach, credibility, and community growth
  • Ensure all partnerships feel authentic and on-brand.
Reporting & Insights
  • Track and report on content, social, influencer, and community performance
  • Analyse what is working and what is not
  • Provide clear insights and recommendations to the wider marketing team
  • Demonstrate impact on brand awareness, engagement, and demand.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:
  • 5+ years' experience in content, social, or community-led roles - essential
  • Proven experience owning content strategy and execution - essential
  • Strong writing and storytelling ability - essential
  • Experience recruiting and managing influencers and brand partners - essential
  • Strong organisational and planning skills - essential
  • Comfortable coordinating across teams and channels - essential
  • Confident analysing performance and reporting insights - essential
  • Able to operate independently and take full ownership - - essential
  • Experience in health, wellness, lifestyle, or FMCG brands
  • Filming, short-form video editing, or design capability
  • Experience planning and executing content shoots
  • Experience running ambassador or affiliate programmes
  • Familiarity with social analytics and influencer platforms.
