About the Position
An Exciting opportunity is available for a highly skilled, results driven, self-directed specialist with extensive knowledge and experience in the strengthening of corporate governance within SARS as an organization. The incumbent will play a key role in strengthening SARS's corporate governance frameworks and practices, ensuring the organisation continues to meet its strategic objectives and legislative obligations with integrity and accountability and should possess the ability to provide expert advice, development of policies, and monitoring of compliance with relevant governance standards, including King IV Report, PFMA and applicable public sector legislation and regulations. This is to ensure that the integration between Enterprise / Corporate Governance and business conform to the best practice guidelines. This will in turn guarantee that good governance prevails to assist SARS to contribute towards the higher purpose and a world class service orientation. The role will form part of the SARS Enterprise Governance Team who operates at a second line of assurance level. SARS has adopted the five lines of assurance model in terms of the King IV governance model. The Governance Unit inter alia, provides Governance services, which includes consulting, advisory services, as well as monitoring and assessment activities (referred to as assurance services). The Unit also recommends best practices where necessary. The Incumbent should be versed with knowledge and a high level of understanding of corporate governance, to provide support where necessary, to general business and management. The incumbent should also be a team player and have good communication skills. S/he will provide highly specialized knowledge and know-how, in order to enable business to translate the SARS vision and strategic intent into a world-class taxpayer service, and delivery operation, through good governance practices and principles. It is required that the candidate should have knowledge of relevant Tax legislation, PFMA, regulations, governance frameworks, ISO Standards in support of Governance, King IV. S/he must also possess strong knowledge, skills and experience to pro-actively assist the business to manage and mitigate any identified risks, within the area of responsibility. S/he will further be responsible to support leadership in designing, maintaining and implementation of SARS Governance Management strategy, Framework, policies, procedures and practices in support of SARS strategic initiatives.
Job Purpose
To establish internal customer relationships with internal stakeholders depending on the service, facilitate the value delivering planning process on an annual basis with business, and ensure delivery according the agreed plan.
Education and Experience
Minimum Qualification & Experience Require
Relevant Bachelor's Degree / Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) and 5-7 years' experience in a Governance, Risk and Compliance Supply Change Environment, of which 2-3 years at a technically skilled level.
ALTERNATIVE #
Senior Certificate (NQF 4) and 10 years' related experience in a Governance, Risk and Compliance Supply Chain Environment, of which 2 -3 years at a technically skilled level.
Minimum Functional Requirements
5 - 7 years' experience in a Supply Chain environment, of which 2 - 3 years at a technically skilled level
