We are a specialized contractor seeking a dedicated and professionally registered

Construction SHE Officer

to ensure full health, safety, and environmental compliance on our high-profile, fast-track construction projects. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing safety standards in complex environments, particularly within active educational facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and monitor the project's Health and Safety (H&S) Management System. Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to all legislative and client-specific safety protocols. Lead site inductions, toolbox talks, and H&S committee meetings. Investigate and report all incidents and accidents, recommending corrective and preventative actions. Maintain comprehensive H&S documentation and liaise with relevant bodies and client management on compliance matters.

Qualifications

Required Qualification:

Relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental certification/qualification.

Professional Registration:

Mandatory registration as a

Professional Construction Health and Safety Agent (PrCHSA)

with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP).

Experience

Minimum Experience:

A minimum of

10 years

of post-training, verifiable experience specifically in the field of construction health and safety.

Project Context:

Experience on high-value (R20+ million), fast-track projects within large institutional or corporate environments is highly advantageous.
