Job Summary

A leading mining company is seeking an experienced Construction Projects Manager to join their team. The successful applicant will report to the Senior Projects Manager or nominee.

DUTIES (including but not limited to):

• Responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of plans to ensure the achievement of project objectives.
• Budget and cost control.
• Monitor project work and compliance with design specifications.
• Take corrective action if needed.
• Report on QA findings.
• Monitor contractor compliance with safety requirements.
• Manage project timeline, budget, contractors and external stakeholders effectively.
• Define the procurement strategy including vendor assessment requirements and levels of inspection/validation commensurate with associated risks.
• Develop a project scope that will deliver the project objectives in line with financial, capacity and schedule expectations.
• Establish safety, cost, quality, and time objectives and monitor and control the project delivery to meet those targets, taking corrective action as necessary.
• Ensure that the HSE performance of the project meets expectations and the delivered asset is consistent with relevant standards and procedures.
• Actively co-ordinate the interface between design and construction to ensure safety, schedule and cost targets are achieved.

Requirements

• Grade 12/Standard 10 Certificate with Mathematics/Science.
• Certificate/National Diploma in Project Management.
• Relevant Trade Test Certificate (Millwright/Fitter/Electrician).
• Code 08 (EB) Driver's Licence.
• 2 years of extensive practical experience in Construction Project Management.
• 2 years of extensive practical experience in Engineering.
• 2 years of extensive practical experience in Contract control and administration.
