Construction Manager - Piping and Mechanical Engineering Projects - AtlantisOur client, a leading Mechanical Engineering concern in the Cape Town area, wants to appoint a Construction Manager to oversee a fixed 9 month contract in Atlantis, on the West Coast from January to September 2024.Responsibilities/Duties:xc2xb7 Manage fabrication and construction tasks to ensure the successful execution of the site project.xc2xb7 Control project schedule and cost through the efficient use of all construction resources including manpower, materials, tools, and equipment.xc2xb7 Provide input for the development of project schedules in cooperation with the Project manager / Site supervisor and relevant subcontractors.xc2xb7 Determine manpower levels to attain scheduled milestones and monitor manpower levels to ensure conformance with the construction plan.xc2xb7 Monitor productivity and cost and implements appropriate action to maintain maximum labour productivity and cost effectiveness.xc2xb7 Ensure that all scope changes are quickly and properly documented and that compensation events are approved.xc2xb7 Implement and maintain the site safety, security, quality and project procedures.xc2xb7 Play an active role in the development of the safety culture on the project, making safety a natural part of all work performed.xc2xb7 Ensure Personnel and overall Project compliance with the Company and Client QHSE policies and systems.xc2xb7 Analyse, manage and mitigate risks.xc2xb7 Develop, implement and manage method statements required for site, establishment, site structural fabrication, site structural assembly, site piping fabrication and installation, equipment installation.xc2xb7 Provide inputs for the overall planning, monitoring and reporting of the project.xc2xb7 Manage subcontractors for quality, cost and schedule and coordinate all activities related to the execution of the project.xc2xb7 Maintain quality of all work in accordance with the standards as specified in the design documents.Qualificationsxc2xb7 Red Seal Artisan or Diploma in a mechanical field.xc2xb7 Pr, CPM at SACPCMP (Would be beneficial)ExperienceMore than 5-year experience in the following:xc2xb7 Large Site Piping Construction/Engineering Projects.xc2xb7 Construction Management experience.)Knowledge and experience of:xc2xb7 Welding/Pipe Fitting/Rigging/Mechanical Fittingxc2xb7 Steel fabrication and site construction.xc2xb7 Lifting Plans, Risk assessments.xc2xb7 HSE statutory appointments.xc2xb7 Technical areas xe2x80x93 Mechanical/Structural Engineering/Construction Managementxc2xb7 Ability to manage multi discipline teams.Job Type: TemporaryContract length: 9 monthsAbility to commute/relocate:Atlantis, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Education:Diploma (Required)Experience:Large Site Piping Construction/Engineering Projects;: 5 years (Required)xe2x80xa2 Welding/Pipe Fitting/Rigging/Mechanical Fitting: 3 years (Required)Steel Fabriction and Site Construction: 3 years (Required)Mechanical Construction Management: 5 years (Required)
