We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager with a proven track record in underground construction projects to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in planning, coordinating, and overseeing the successful execution of underground works, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and project timelines.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage underground construction teams and subcontractors on site.
Develop construction plans, schedules, and budgets for underground works
Ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure project success.
Manage risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
Monitor progress, productivity, and cost control against project goals.
Attend/Chair Internal, Contractor and Client Meetings
Qualifications/ Requirements
Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
10+ years major-project experience, with 5+ years in an EPCM environment and at least 3 underground mine development.
Proven track-record managing multi-disciplinary contractors under tight brown-field constraints.
Solid grasp of South African statutory requirements, MHSA & OHS Act, and environmental permitting.
Strong knowledge of underground construction methodologies and safety protocols.
Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and manage complex operations.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with EPCM or large-scale infrastructure projects is advantageous.
