Conservation & Land Specialist - Somerset WestFull job descriptionRoles and Responsibilitiesxe2x80x8bWe are looking 2 people with work experience that focuses on any or all of these areas: Ecological, Conservation, Agricultural Improvements, Research, Natural Resources, etc.You must be willing to relocate because the 2 positions are based in Eastern Cape in the Joubertina and Baviaanskloof areas.You will be working as a Landscape Practitioner for your area of jurisdiction in the Joubertina or Baviaanskloof xe2x80x8bareas of Eastern Cape.The vacancies are 2 i.e. 1 Senior and 1 Junior.Project management including planning and scheduling Geospatial data (GIS) mapping & analysis.Development ecological rehabilitation/veld management plans.Report proposal writing/ project developmentMeeting/workshop facilitationContract management trial/ pilot design & data analysisSite scoping. xe2x80x8bFieldwork data collection, site set-up and trial implementation.Workshop/ meeting organizationWriting meeting reports and taking minutes. xe2x80x8bOngoing stakeholder engagement (predominantly in Afrikaans).Qualifications and RequirementsSenior Landscape Practitioners require considerable work experience plus a technical background and are expected to take ownership with a high level of responsibility, as well as manage junior staff. Mid Senior/ Junior levels should have tertiary education; practical experience (e.g., 1-2 years) (medior) or limited work experience (junior).MSc, BSc (Hons) or Advanced Diploma in Agricultural Management/ Conservation Ecology/ Game Management/ Geography/ Geoinformatics or similar discipline.Demonstrated computer literacy in MS Office, such as Excel and Word with excellent writing skills.Reliable, flexible, with xe2x80x98can-doxe2x80x99 attitude (not looking for a standard 9-to-5: works well both in a team and independently).Driverxe2x80x99s license. xe2x80x8bPractical experience of Thicket/ Karroid/ Fynbos ecosystems.Willing to relocate and live in rural, agricultural regions. Fluent in Afrikaans: spoken and written.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: R20 000,00 - R49 500,00 per month
