We are seeking a skilled Computer Network and Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our organization's network infrastructure and systems. The ideal candidate will ensure the seamless operation of LAN/WAN networks, servers, and related systems while prioritizing security, performance, and scalability. This role requires a proactive problem-solver with strong technical expertise and excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design, configure, and maintain computer networks, including LAN, WAN, VPNs, and wireless systems.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points) and software.
Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize efficiency.
Ensure network security by implementing firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and regular patch updates.
Develop and maintain accurate network diagrams and technical documentation for system configurations.
Perform disaster recovery operations and data backups to ensure business continuity.
Collaborate with other teams to integrate new technologies and support system upgrades.
Provide high-level technical support for network and system-related issues, resolving incidents promptly.
Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations to improve network infrastructure.
Coordinate with vendors and service providers for equipment procurement and maintenance.
Required Qualifications
Education
: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications may be preferred.
Experience
: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network engineering, systems administration, or a related role.
Technical Skills
:
Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices (Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent).
Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, etc.).
Experience with network security tools (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and antivirus solutions).
Knowledge of operating systems (Windows Server, Linux/UNIX) and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and hybrid network environments.
Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) for automation and troubleshooting.
Certifications
(preferred but not mandatory):
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
CompTIA Network+ or Security+.
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or equivalent.
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) for security-focused roles.
