Job Description


MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Responsible for the identifying, assessing, managing and reporting regulatory risks and obligations pertinent to BCB, which will ensure that statutory responsibilities of the Compliance function are carried out with due care, skill, and diligence.

  • Identify high risk impacts to regulatory risks and obligations in line with the regulatory Universe.
  • Facilitate workshops with business to assess control weaknesses and recommend control amendments.
  • Facilitate compliance projects including monitoring.
  • Responsible for sample monitoring of all assigned compliance including Exchange control and AML monitoring reports pertaining to BCB in line with monitoring methodology.
  • Knowledge and understanding of banking products, governance, and control frameworks in the financial services industry.
  • Analytical skills to analyse trends and typologies in data and make informed decisions on such trends and typologies.
  • Responsible for developing Compliance Risk Management Plans within BCB.
  • Oversee that Enhanced Due Diligence reports are compiled and reported on correctly for review of Line Manager.
  • Ensure that all regulatory requirements and reporting obligations are being complied with.
  • Responsible for providing advisory services and guidance in line with regulatory requirements within BCB.
  • Ensure complaints are dealt with timeously and recorded correctly on the bankxe2x80x99s system.
  • Drafting of all business unit compliance related training material.
  • Perform other compliance related duties as instructed by Line Manager.
SKILLS/PERSONAL ATTIBUTES REQUIRED
  • Diploma in Compliance Management/Auditing or AML certificate (completed or currently in progress to completion).
  • 5 years banking experience within the financial service industry.
  • RE 5 and/or RE 1 would be advantageous.
  • Solid knowledge of Regulatory requirements (Regulatory Acts pertinent to Financial Services).
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Understanding risk management concepts.
  • Strong analytical skills and communication skills.
