Job Description


My client is seeking a meticulous and knowledgeable Compliance Accountant to join their team.The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring financial regulatory compliance, identifying risks, and implementing controls to mitigate non-compliance issues.This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with various departments, strengthen relationships with quality assurance providers, and contribute to the overall success of the organization.This role is based in Olifantsfontein, Midrand.Key Responsibilities:

  • Inform and educate management of financial regulatory compliance risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Mitigate non-compliances that may lead to fines and suspensions, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations.
  • Identify and advise management of potential financial compliance risks, providing proactive solutions.
  • Develop and implement financial compliance controls within the financial department to ensure adherence to regulations.
  • Participate in formal and ad hoc committee meetings as required, providing expertise on compliance matters.
  • Strengthen and maintain relationships with other quality assurance providers within the company through regular interaction and collaboration.
  • Assist in preparing monthly management accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure VAT compliance of the company, staying abreast of changes in regulations and adjusting procedures accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with SARS (South African Revenue Service) regulations, including SBL (Small Business Tax) compliance.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to loan obligations, mitigating financial risks associated with debt.
  • Collaborate with HR on payroll sign-off and payment processing, ensuring PAYE compliance with SARS regulations.
  • Assist the Financial Manager with internal and external audit requirements, providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Oversee the statutory requirements of the company, ensuring timely filings and compliance with all legal obligations.
  • Provide management with supplier cash flow forecasts on a bi-weekly basis, assisting in financial planning and decision-making.
  • Oversee the supplier departments and function, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements and financial regulations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in financial compliance, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, including VAT, SARS, and statutory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate financial risks.
