Job Purpose:

To serve as the primary link between the company/project and the local community in Vrede, ensuring effective communication, fostering positive relationships, and addressing community concerns related to company operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as the main point of contact between the company and the Vrede community. Facilitate community engagement activities, including meetings, forums, and consultations. Communicate company plans, progress, and impacts to community members clearly and timely. Identify and address community concerns and grievances in a professional and timely manner. Collaborate with local leaders, government officials, and stakeholders to build trust and cooperation. Monitor social impacts of company operations and report feedback to management. Assist in the development and implementation of community development projects. Prepare and submit regular reports on community engagement activities and issues. Support compliance with social and environmental regulations relating to community relations. Promote corporate social responsibility initiatives benefiting the Vrede community. Ensure all community liaison activities align with company policies and legal requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

Matric or equivalent qualification (Diploma or Degree in Social Sciences, Public Relations, Community Development, or related field preferred). Proven experience in community liaison, public relations, or stakeholder engagement. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities. Understanding of local cultural, social, and economic dynamics. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in English and local languages spoken in Vrede. Computer literacy (MS Office suite).
